Teacher and mother of two asked for new hair product recommendations for her three-year-old daughter.
I’m looking for new hair products for my daughter. I normally use Curly kids. I started using the shampoo and conditioner when I first started conditioning her hair then they changed the packaging and I found the product changed. But their lotion I kept using as that was ok.
Her hair is naturally curly but it’s just getting thicker and more curly as she’s getting older and that lotion just isn’t giving her what it needs. She needs more moisture but I wouldn’t be able to put oil or anything like our hair.
After asking a few questions about leave-in conditioner and any allergies to oil, we discovered that mom doesn’t actually use a leave-in conditioner in her daughter’s hair and she’s not allergic to oil. Mom said oil would just be too greasy for her daughter’s hair. However, her baby girl’s hair gets slightly dry now, whereas it didn’t before, more so with the weather (England was experiencing a heatwave at the time of writing).
As her hair gets thicker it will need more moisture. So you definitely want to be using a conditioner. Especially with the heat. Also, try a balm if you don’t want to use oil.

This is a silicone-free and glycerine-free leave-in conditioner. This provides an excellent protective base for any styling product. It stands on its own as well, sealing the hair cuticle with aloe vera juice and a touch of oat protein. It is also lightweight enough to be used as a daily moisturiser with a sealant.
